Currently the Registrar of the University of Health and Allied Sciences. Ms. Yaa Amankwaa Opuni holds a Bachelor of Education degree in Business Education (Secretarial and Management) option from the University of Education Winneba, Kumasi Campus (now Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED), and a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Ghana. Committed to life-long education for higher professional efficiency, Ms. Opuni is a Chattered Professional Administrator, Chartered Institute of Management Consultants, Ghana (CIAMC).   

Ms. Opuni has 18 years of experience in Higher Education Administration with specialization in Public Administration.  She has held several administrative and leadership positions in the University serving on different roles in the University.  Thses include Assistant Registrar, Office of the Registrar, Head, Department of Recruitment, Promotion and Separation at the Human Resource Directorate, Head of Administration, Fred N. Binka School of Public Health and Head of Administration, School of Pharmacy.  She has led and been involved in the development and implementation of several policies governing the operations of the University.

Ms. Opuni’s close knowledge and personal experience of the full range of the University’s administrative units and processes mandated under the Act and Statutes has been brought to bear on the University’s governance and administration. She has had the rare advantage of having been involved in all aspects of the University Machinery. 

She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Administrators and Management Consultants-Ghana and a member of Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA).
