Background: The Oncology Nurse Leadership Program stems from the recognition of the critical role that nurses play in oncological care and the need for strong leadership within this specialized field. Oncology nursing involves caring for individuals with cancer throughout caregiving, from diagnosis to survivorship or end-of-life care.
Objective: The University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) in partnership with International Society of Nurses in Cancer Care (ISNCC) and City Cancer Challenge (C/Can) has developed a comprehensive oncology nursing leadership program to address a real-world oncology healthcare challenge and leadership skills of nurses in Africa as well as other low-and middle-income countries (LMICs).
Course Duration and Certification
The ONLEP is a six-month certificate-level program. Upon completion, participants will earn a postgraduate certificate recognizing their leadership expertise in oncology.
Entry Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Midwifery
- A minimum of 2 years experience in Oncology Care
- Demonstrated Leadership potential
- A master’s degree will be an added advantage
