Martin Amogre Ayanore an Associate Professor of Health Economics and Policy, and the foundational Dean of the School of Graduate Studies, University of Health and Allied Sciences, Ghana. He is a health systems thinker with strong skills and expertise in economic evaluations in healthcare, health financing, health policy, financial and social risk protection strategies, maternal and child health, and social health insurance policy reforms in Sub-Saharan Africa and Low and Middle Income Countries (LMICs).

 

Professor Ayanore has strong skills in research and development practice, with over a decade of experience in medium and large-scale project design, implementation, and evaluation. He has specialized training in project and strategic management in health.

Professor Ayanore has a strong track record of scholarly research, having published more than 200 papers and ranked among the top scientists in the health sciences in Africa. His published research spans health systems strengthening, economic evaluation in health, health policy reforms in LMIC, Quality of Life (QoL), healthy ageing, inequality, and inequities in health, among others.

 

Professor Ayanore has authored over 200 scholarly, peer-reviewed papers in highly rated journals. He has held previous positions as a visiting professor at Queen’s University, Canada; a two-time fellow at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health; and a visiting research scientist at the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, Dublin. He is a recipient of several Travel awards as an academic to present his work in workshops and conferences around the World.

 

He is a member of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (RSTMH), UK, a member of the WHO Health Financing Technical Network (HFTN Main Community), and a collaborator to the Global Burden of Disease Network, University of Washington, USA. He is also an active member of the African Health Economics and Policy Association (AfHEA). He is a member of the WHO TWG on measuring the distribution of the healthcare workforce. Professor Ayanore has consulted for several organizations and institutions, including the WHO, USAID, World Vision International, UNICEF, World Bank, and United Nations.
