LAUNCH OF ONCOLOGY NURSE LEADERSHIP PROGRAMME (ONLEP) IN AFRICA

We are pleased to announce the official launch of the Oncology Nurse Leadership Programme (ONLEP) in Africa at 10:00a.m. on Monday, July 7, 2025, at Cedi Auditorium, UHAS Main Campus, Sokode-Lokoe.
The Oncology Nurse Leadership Programme (ONLEP) in Africa aims to empower oncology nurses with the leadership skills, knowledge, and expertise necessary to drive positive change and improve cancer care outcomes. This programme brings together exceptional oncology nurses from across the continent to strengthen their leadership skills, amplify their voices, and elevate the nursing profession as a cornerstone of sustainable, high-quality cancer care.
The launch is chaired by Togbe Adze II, Divisional Chief (Dufia) of Fodome Agbesia. The event brings together four partners (University of Health and Allied Sciences, International Society of Nurses in Cancer Care, City Cancer Challenge and Amgen) and key stakeholders in nursing, the University community and the healthcare fraternity. The Country Director of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr. Fiona Braka and the Volta Regional Minister, Honourable James Gunu commended the partners for this important leadership programme.
This launch marks a significant milestone in our efforts to enhance oncology nursing leadership and strengthen the healthcare system in Africa. We look forward to the successful implementation of this 5-year project targeting the training of 240 nurses.
